Setting Up Audio and Video

In a meeting, your broadcast capabilities depend upon your attendee role. Hosts control participant access to broadcast capabilities. To learn more about permissions, see Roles and Permissions under Using Adobe Connect.

Configuring Audio

In the Adobe Connect meeting room:

• From the “Meeting” menu at the top of the window, select "Manage My Settings>Audio Setup Wizard."
• Follow the directions on the screen.
• Note: If any of the Wizard tests fail, you will need to troubleshoot your microphone and speakers. Please be aware that the Wizard will allow you to continue even if your computer fails a test.

In the Adobe Connect meeting room:

• From the “Meeting” menu at the top of the window, choose "Manage My Settings" > “Select Camera."
• A Settings window opens, with the "Camera" tab selected
• Click on the camera icon and select your camera from the drop-down list. You may see a window pop up on the screen asking you to allow your video to be broadcast – click “Allow.” This window appears only once during a meeting no matter how many times you turn off and on your camera.
• Note: If no camera is connected, a “No Camera Found” message appears instead of the Camera drop-down list. If you do have a camera connected but you get a "No Camera Found" message, check to be sure your camera is turned on and not being used by another application.
• Click "Close."

Audio Captioning (Optional)
Adobe has an extension that allows for real-time audio captioning for greater accessibility. It is available as a free download from Adobe: http://www.adobe.com/cfusion/exchange/index.cfm?event=extensionDetail&lo... (you may have to create a user name and password if you are not already registered with Adobe). Note that in order for a meeting to be captioned using the extension, the meeting creator or Host must set up a captioning service ahead of time. Captioning companies do charge a fee for their services.
