We have been using Breeze with great success recently. Some of our students would like to use the audio portions of concluded sessions as an audio podcast to allow for greater mobility. Is there a manner whereby the audio can be stripped from existing recordings?
audio in Breeze recordings
The audio is stored on the server in the form of an FLV which makes it difficult to work with but not impossible. If the audio in question happens to be from a teleconference associated with the Breeze meeting, it is kept in MP3 format on the server and can be retrieved manually by someone with access to the server.
Penn State does not use the teleconference
Penn State does not use the teleconference feature and the audio is not saved to the server as an mp3 file, but rather is encoded as multiple swfs deep in numbered subdirectories that can only be accessed by an admin. We are pushing on Adobe to make meeting recordings available as exports/converter/downloads. Adobe created an faq explaining how meetings are recorded at http://www.adobe.com/resources/breeze/meeting/articles/recording_02.html
Removing audio
There is no way to do this that I know of at this time. We have submitted this as an enhancement request to Adobe. The only solution that I know of would be to use an application like Audacity or Captivate to record the sound while playing a recording of the meeting on your computer.
