Connie Welch (cjd5)

Connie is an ITS Consultant with Consulting and Support Services at Penn State. She has been involved with Adobe Connect since the later part of the test phase in January, 2006. As a member of a Technology Committee in the Consulting group, she tested various desktop video conferencing applications, including what was then a Macromedia product called Breeze. Connie notes, “Once we began playing and comparing this product with other applications, we were impressed with the capabilities.” Later she was invited to be a member of the Adobe Connect committee. In her everyday life, she uses Adobe Connect for various meetings within her Consultant group, to attend Adobe Connect Committee meetings and to participate in focus groups.

Along with other Consultants, Connie is active in leading the ITS Open Demonstration Sessions. These sessions are conducted on a weekly basis (see Penn State Support Resources under Help/FAQ for more information). She also helps perform on-site demonstrations for the Penn State Community, including the non-University Park locations.

Connie enjoys the IT field, as she notes that it is constantly changing and allows for many opportunities to learn and experiment. She is also an assistant swim team coach for the Juniata Valley YMCA Stingrays, a certified YMCA swimming official, and a swim stroke instructor for all age levels (including tri-athletes).
