Is there a way to focus only on a single user’s video feed in Connect?

The video/audio pod seems to always be occupied by anyone connected to the session; i.e., if there are four users connected to the session with their camera/mics enabled, the pod is split into four sections. We will be using Adobe Connect in the fall to deliver classes to a remote campus. In our scenario the instructor will be logged in along with a facilitator at our end. On the remote end there will be at least a facilitator connected. We would like the video feed for the instructor to be large so the remote campus can see him clearly yet we need the remote users that are connected to be able to talk via mic. Is there a way to accomplish this in Connect so only the instructor’s video feed is present so that the pod isn’t reduced in size by the other user’s silhouettes?

Little Control Over the Camera Voice Pod

Adobe Connect provides very few options for controling the video in the Camera and Voice pod. There is no way to make one image larger or smaller than another image -- Adobe Connect divides the space evenly between those who are broadcasting, even if they aren't broadcasting video.

You can, however, layer pods on top of each other, so if you want the instructor to be seen, but others in the Camera and Voice pod to not be seen, you might be able to arrange your screen so that the Share pod (or some other pod) covers the area of the Camera and Voice pod that you want to hide.

Something else to try is, if you only want some participants to broadcast audio but no video, don't attach a camera to the computers of the people who will only be broadcasting audio. The person broadcasting will still take up the same amount of space in the Camera and Voice pod, but there won't be a video image to distract the audience.
