Mark Heckel (mth130)

Mark is an information technology training specialist, working for ITS Training Services at Penn State. He has been a member of the Breeze/Adobe Connect team from the outset. He’s the lead training specialist for Adobe Connect, and has taught both the general introduction and a new seminar on the pedagogical uses of Adobe Connect in the classroom. In addition to Adobe Connect, he provides web-based training for Captivate, Dreamweaver, FrontPage, Flash, cascading style sheets, and other web-related products and projects.

In his everyday life, Mark has used Adobe Connect for attending meetings, giving trainings for participants at distributed locations, and for facilitating the distribution of meetings. He has also used it for executive board meetings of a national organization of which he is vice-president. He explains, “It allows us to conduct business and exchange information easily among members who are located across the nation.”

Mark is a Penn State grad ('81, '87 M.Ed. in Music Education) who was in the Blue Band, and was a 4-year varsity letterman in track and field. He’s a Master level (highest) track and field official, and has worked the Olympic Trials. He is also a Master's track and field athlete and an active clinician in throwing events and throwing safety. And now he works in IT!
