Talk Button Turns Itself Off

During an Adobe Connect meeting this morning the Talk button would magically decide to turn itself off. I have heard of one other person having this problem. Has anyone else experienced this?

When the meeting started we were having audio problems. I had the talk option set to multiple speakers. The meeting room connection speed was already set for DSL even though we were on the Penn State network because participants were coming in from other campuses. I was broadcasting video, but the camera was paused.

To try to resolve the audio issues I quit out of the room -- and discovered that FireFox had decided to download an update. That probably explains most of the audio issues. I told FireFox not to update and restarted it. I re-entered the meeting and ran the Audio Setup Wizard again. That seemed to fix the intermittent audio issues -- just to be sure, I didn't broadcast video. BUT, then the Talk button would intermittently turn itself off! As the meeting progressed, the problem stopped happening.

The trouble with an intermittent problem is that it's so difficult to diagnose. If others are experiencing the same problem please log in and respond to this post so we can try to document what's happening.

RE:Talk Button Turns Itself Off

I know of one other instant that occurred when there was a burp in the connection. It was also in Firefox. The browser was restarted and reconnection solved it from happening again during that session.

Voice on: 1 Speaker vs Voice on: multiple speakers

Not sure if this is pertinent to this discussion or not but with the Webinars that I've been acting as tech advisor, we've noticed that if a host changes from multiple speaker to 1 speaker (in the area next to the Hands-Free icon), audio drops for several seconds. First of all ... is there a Best Practice how to use this? Second, if this is causing issues, should we have it available or turn it off from server?

same issue today

I had a user with this same issue today.

As I was moving from the word document that I was sharing to the adobe screen, I sometimes lost the multiple speakers choice and the tick mark was on sound off (or whatever was equivalent)…do you know why that would happen?
